No Child Left Behind was also used to basically gut anything for advanced students to instead focus putting all resources towards getting the retards across the finish line.
Let's say a typical class is 100 kids. I'd rather have a chance at 1 Elon Musk, 19 kids who can innovate and program or operate at a very high level, 60 average citizens who can read and write and do math at a standard level and specialize for a typical job, and 20 illiterate failures who need to do sweatshop work the rest of their lives than 100 average functional citizens.
You're not only wasting their potential in academics, you're setting the standard for how hard they can work; if they school is always easy and effortless for them because of their intelligence, how do you think they'll handle it when they do run into a real challenge? Less well than the 60 normies who at least are used to sometimes haven't to put in some sweat as the adult world will eventually demand, even for super smart people in a normal job.
