What I don’t get is if they’re gonna pay a crisis actress to get “murdered,” why not disguise her as a cop and make us responsible, instead of having one of “us” get shot?
Optically that would just garner sympathy for us, because nobody got shot during the Kavanaugh hearings, and they were cornering Senators in elevators.
Don’t get me wrong, I definitely think we had good intentions on the 6th, and some of us got baited into attacking the Capitol by agitators (the typical scenario), but I don’t get the crisis actor angle.

The best explanation I've read is that it was an attempt to provoke a violent reaction in response to the shooting.
