my school district in high school only required 3 history credits so freshman usually took an elective, I had AP human geo to fill that spot(bullshit ass subject, couldn't tell you what the purpose was) but the teacher did not like me and refused to put me in honors. I didn't care much for history so I thought "hey, easy A." Not two days in that class before "I have to get the fuck out of here, this feels like a special needs class" and that's when I learned how fucking dumb "average" actually is and promptly got a schedule change to honors.
Those smart kids will now be put into Gen Pop Rompus Rooms.
I grew up in a poor area of Houston and was in the advanced classes. When I had to go to a “Regular” class or gym, I felt like I was at the zoo.
And that was in the 70’s and 80’s, when education was still a tiny bit okay.
