I respectfully disagree. The system laid out in the constitution is fraught with flaws and potential partisan politics. The amended process is much better.

So you're saying that the current situation of hard partisan elections is good? The 12th says that the president and vice should be voted separate but they are being voted together. Repeal the 12th and we'd have the most votes go to president and 2nd to vice. Where we are looking at a 3rd party starting the crooks may never again see the presidency or vice ever again.

So you're saying the country would function better with the President and Vice President coming from different parties? I think that would make the executive branch a four year playground spat between 5yr olds.

kinda like it is already? You know the saying "if you aren't pissing someone off you aren't doing your job"? the reason it was put in place is because people got pissed that they had to actually serve the will of the people. This was all when the country was new and there were still crown sympathizers in the country wanting to return to the commonwealth. What I find facinating about it though is under the first election the 12th covered George Clinton was elected VP. Maybe to test the family (not sure if there is a relation but my god that would be a hell of a coincidence huh?).. It may be a coincidence but I'm still skeptical because the shit we're dealing with now stems from shit as far back or even farther than prohibition in the 20s.
