I voted for Cox and nobody really knew who that guy was, yet we also found out that the “not Gavin” vote wasn’t strong enough to overcome his popularity.
His popularity has definitely waned since that high point. Ric has a high enough profile that he should have no problem campaigning against Newsom, especially if GEOTUS stumps for him.
Grenell just said on Twitter this was fake news (talking to Trump about a run). So I dunno. He'd be much better than Newsom

This was all decided a month ago, not tonight. Not doxxing myself here to say how i know that. He's running.
Iron rule of politics: you have to "answer people's call" to serve in public office, not announce your ideas to ascend. The recall has multiple stages and will take months. You don't put yourself out there unless you know it's certain (i.e. when the special election for succession has been called). It's not time to do that yet. He's gearing up appearances to check support.
Please make this happen.

California has some of the worst voting laws in the country. It would take a revolution to fix it.
Talk about an absolute waste of time. California's fate is already sealed. They're 120% Democrat and 150% of that is of the extremist kind. Plus with all the time he'd have to be in California, some maniac might assassinate him.
He should run in a state where he could actually do some good. Like Florida, or Georgia.

I bet if Elon Musk ran as an independent in California, he could definitely become Governor.
And I'd love to see him do it, because while we don't know all about Elon, we do know that he understands the business world, and has a lot of the future in his head.
Elon could work wonders for California, and help address the reason large corporations like his own are leaving Cali for Texas.
I truly think Elon could win California, even as a republican.
So that's what it's really all about... You need someone who can be so popular across party lines, that people from both parties like the guy.

Agreed. I think the reason Trumps picks were so bad is that positions like those need to be approved by Congress / mainstream GOP... And idk if they'd be willing to vote for someone like Ric Grenell.
I sometimes wish powerful positions like that could just be appointed completely by a president alone.
I know why that's "dangerous", but Congress is bought and paid for, and until we change Congress, nothing will change at all.
Congress is key to get the change we've wanted. Not the presidency. Change Congress FIRST, presidency can then be actually useful to make the changes.
Imagine if we somehow restored the FBI to a true and honest law enforcement agency, rather than its current state of being political bureaucracy that hunts and persecutes people for political reasons!
We can accomplish this, but it'll take years of grassroots work.
Ric Grenell is the only one who can save California. And Newsom is very very nervous about running against Grenell. Newsom's track record on EVERYTHING is abysmal. He is the worst that California has ever elected. But they can turn the ship around by electing Grenell!!! I left the state after 40 years because the politics have destroyed everything. By the time the election rolls around, gas should be hitting $6.00 a gallon in California (because of Newsom's policies). Lets see how that sits with everyday voters.
I don't think it matters. CA is already doing everything it can to invalidate the recall signatures. Assuming the recall even happens dominion will be used, and the election will be "fortified" for Newsom. If a Republican somehow does get in the entire state legislature is still blue. Best case scenario we have a short pause in the crazy, and I'm not hopefull we even get that far.

We do currently, but the census just happened so redistricting is back on the menu. We have a citizens board that does it, not the legislature, so hopefully the demographics change up again and we get more balance.
Gotta ditch the Illegals first, then throw them into the the Pacific if they won't go willingly back to Meh-ico.
