Weak rap over weak beats with autotune turn't all the way up to "warble" . . . can't stand it. Stuff all sounds the same. I'm still listening to stuff from back in the 90's. They crafted some great songs and had much more to say. But now a days I'm a big Upchurch fan!
Rap is complete shit, and has been since its inception. Sampling music created by others because you lack the talent to create anything on your own is not making music. It is fucking theft. I could sit down at my studio desk and do that shit all day long, but I don’t. Mainly because I am an actual musician, that can play actual instruments, and not a criminal with a microphone seeking instant gratification.
Rap has contributed greatly to the dumbing down of this country, along with many other well placed and well funded forms of garbage parading as “art”.
ACTUAL rap is good. This garbage they make nowadays where they slam 3 bottles of robitussin and drool into a microphone isn't even music.

Once rapper’s had to start paying for samples, it was a all downhill imo. 90’s through very early 2000’s was the best period of rap.
