With the added bonus that building your own rifle will allow you to customize it just the way you want. Parts can be shipped straight to your door and many gun shops online have parts kits that are going for cheaper than you can buy a full rifle for right now. A couple youtube videos of assembly and some basic shop tools and you are good to go. In Biden's America you can't be too careful and I don't trust the FBI. I'm sure those background checks will get you placed on the gun registry (that supposedly doesn't exist). Link to read a little more. https://www.ghostgunlaws.com/

you can still sell it, but not within 1 year of building it.

Also, if it's got no serial number, there's no way to track what year it was built besides your payment history for the parts if you didn't pay in cash.

If you think they can't put two and two together about your purchases and shipping records that you have an unregistered weapon, you're crazy.

Bingo. Gotta go to a parts store and buy with cash. And even then, security cameras...

I mean I'm sure they could... although it would be a pain in the ass and they'd have to access the purchase records of multiple companies, the shipping records from all major shipping companies and the credit/debit card purchase history as well. Especially if you bought the parts months apart and/or bought with cash. It would be much easier to create a registry from the background checks and FFL dealers I would think. Digging into every person's financials to see who might have bought any gun parts in the past seems like a pain in the ass.. Not that they wouldn't do it. But I doubt they would do it for everyone when there is a much easier way to get the information.

also, the 4473 is kind of a soft list. it must be retained by the original seller for 10 years (i forget correct me if I'm wrong) They can't make a searchable database, however they can come close via scraping software and good file keeping That's why mine will be a god awful mess👍

And for the love of god if you have questions about the legality of your build DO NOT ASK THE FUCKING ATF ask a reputable forum or 2A group

Alot of places also engrave a custom serial number on it for you, so you can sell it or pass it down later.

Legally you can sell a gun without a serial number as long as you wait a year after building it.

Volunteering to have a serial number placed on your gun is like asking the government to embed a tracking chip in your child.

BTW, if your dog has a tracking chip, and you keep your dog with you, then the tracking chip might as well be up your ass too.

Are any of you are here in commifornia. The only legal way here is serialize it. And only then can it be sold. I've never heard a 1 year law. Everything parts wise here is like finding unicorns. Actually you might find a unicorn first. My buddies wife just baught a 9 mm pistol. Their first pistol. Can't find ammo for it in town. Im in a city of approx 400k population there's maybe 5-6 stores to purchase from and 2 of those are big5. I just finished an ar 15 seriel build in 300acc. I baught most parts on veterans day. Just barely found a bcg for it. Charging handle doesn't seem to go all the way forward though. I'll post later tonight for sundays responses. Stack that ammo when you can.
