I know it gets said here a lot but I left the city after the opportunity presented itself. One plus side of the pandemic for me is that my office has transitioned to remote and can work where I want. I can't stress enough how much happier I am. I go into local bars or restaurants and not even the bartenders or servers are wearing masks. It is so refreshing. Like a flashback to normal life. If able, get out! You will be happier for it

I was in the same boat once I graduated college. Once you work and build a resume, you will have more flexibility and will have options. I had stars in my eyes when I first moved to the city only to find that they're rampantly corrupt and are mostly shit holes

Unfortunately, I was born in the city and had a taste of the more rural life. I miss it dearly. I hope to leave soon, the area I live in is growing rapidly and Id rather not be here for it.
