I went into Home Depot today with my kids, several people (definitely the minority) weren’t wearing masks. Nothing was said to me so I can only assume nothing was said to them. It felt normal for once, definitely going back soon just so I can have that feelings again

While it's great that businesses like home depot and lowe's don't enforce the BS mask requirements, it makes me sad that we are in a place where you're wanting to go back just to get the feels. I mean I don't blame you but fuck. It shouldn't be like this
I whole heartedly agree. This past year has made me very angry. Angry that people agree to follow along. Angry that politicians used this for political gain. Angry that so many livelihoods were ruined.
It's the guilt and shame. Americans are generally pretty nice people and I think a lot of them are generally trying to be considerate of others with these stupid masks, not realizing most Americans would prefer them not wearing them as they don't want to have to wear them either.
I think a large percentage of people are only wearing them because it's the path of least resistance and they don't want the trouble of not wearing them.
I make it a point to take it off after the mask nazis at the door, but I'll try not to wear them. I felt bad as a guy at Target phrased it as asking me if I wanted a mask and I just walked past him. Today was one of two times I'd been asked to put a mask on while working out at a Planet Fitness for some reason, but I guess every location is different and I wasn't paying to use that one.
