Some artists don't need a theatre. The No Agenda Podcast works off the value for value model. If your art is worth anything, people will pay. If you're not a completely worthless artist, you can find a way to get your art out there. If your "art" is pretending for a live audience, you're not as artistic as you think.
When I was 16, my dad used to do labor jobs for the socialites in our town.
While working with him for some Doctor, and his wife; She saw some of my drawings and started asking me to draw things for her (And oh, she paid!)... I started making thousands a week drawing basically practice doodles, and concept sketches. (My dad was both pissed, and jealous - he felt like I was "Cheating" honest pay - I was merely exploiting the wealthy.)
The real kick to me, her Son was in an art collage and, while I don't want to overly critique an artform I don't understand, I thought his work was shit... It was the exact kind of vapid, hallow, conformity of "Liberal Arts" you'd Expect. "It's Expressive" "You just don't understand" - No, my dude, it's just shit.
At the time, I was mostly doing fashion designs; I'm shocked she actually hired someone to make some of my work, So, I'm kind of proud of that.
Really, if your good enough at what you do (Any artform), and you put yourself out there; it's not that hard to find work, plenty of people actually do need/want to hire an artist for different things. Making it a sustainable career is another story. I personally like doing it as a hobby, but I'd never want to "Sell out" to a company; such as getting a job where I have to draw 24/7 and drone away for some corporation to harvest my work. (Nothing but horror stories of ex Disney animators, and Disney stealing their work.)
And a special Fuck You to all the people who ask artists to do their work "For the exposure" - you lick my sack.
Its not that we "don't need art." Its that we don't need shitty garbage that this clown *CALLS" art.
Besides, I always washed my hands, social distancing and masks don't work, and I am not required to be a lab rat for untested medicines or gene therapy they're calling a "vaccine."

I have been examining what society decides to reward: Hollyweird, pro sports, phony finance, music for lemmings, and political pukes. I count the days with baited breath for the era these worthless turds jump from high buildings.
