If someone broke into my home he wouldn't even need to steal anything, I'd shoot and kill him. He's fair game at that point.
Same. I have spent the the time fortifying my house too. Alarm system, cameras etc. Remote activated floodlights outside too.
I put a solid door at the top of the stairs where the bedrooms are with a lock and secondary bolt.
No one is sneaking up on us while we are asleep and if that alarm goes off they better run.
As an addendum, if shit did kick off at my place in the middle of the night, I also wouldn't be calling 9-1-1, I'd call my neighbors who are people like me, well armed and 20 seconds away.
That's your best defense these days. Live among people that you trust and build a real community. Know their names, know their numbers, know their kids.
my neighbors suck, I live near the lake and 1 of 2 biden supporters in Tennessee I have met is my neighbor. The rest are rich assholes now there is another house close to me it is a house made into 4 apartments. It is full of wanna be gangsters that like to party all fucking night with rap music blaring, and the only time they want to shoot guns is 3 in the morning, when me and my kids have to get up in the morning. Needless to say my neighbors don't like me very much. And if I shot somebody for breaking in if my placement was not good, I could only guess where the blood trail would lead. I have tried to buy that house several times. The owner says he will sell it to me but never does. It would add 5 acres to my property.
We have had undesirables move into the area a couple times in the 8 years I have lived here.
They never last long in my neighborhood. They tend to have a lot of really bad luck I guess, and then they sell and go somewhere else.
Nothing you can do when you have the whole community against you and no one ever sees anything.
I think maybe you should think about moving to a better place?
