I should have known when on one of our first outings we went to my favorite walking trail in the woods and he said "I hope no wild animals come after us. Don't expect me to take one down." or something like that. As soon as he said it my thought was "well this isn't going to go well at all".
Every guy I was ever with before him was alpha af. I thought I'd see how it went with the opposite. Whatever you are thinking right now... that's how it went.
A close female friend of mind had a joke...
We were hanging out after work, (co-workers) and it was late, so I was walking all the women to the car. Anyway, a liberal co-worker, allegedly male, walked up and asked what I was doing. I told him I was walking the women to their cars to make sure they got home safe. He asked what I would do if someone attacked us. I responded by telling him that anyone attacking myself or a female in my presence would likely be shot in the head. His response: I hate violence, and I hate guns. I would probably run away. If one of my coworkers was attacked I would feel bad, but I could never hurt another person....
My friend made a loud slurping sound. She said, "do you know what that is? It's the sound of my vagina sealing itself shut like a barbie doll because of you!
I don't think hiking is a good date unless you know and trust the person (i.e. know them good for a while, not just some guy from class). Being alone with guy in woods is not good idea, easy for rape or robbery to happen.
And if people are going to walk in the woods they should be armed.
thanks for your concern but I'm a grown woman that was in my late 30s at the time I was going out with that guy, for one. And for two, it's a very well known and populated trail. I wasn't alone, unprepared with a complete stranger.
And for me, it's a perfect date. One of the best dates I ever went on involved a hike through the woods, to a water fall where we had a picnic then later that day went for a motorcycle ride to my favorite little town for drinks.
This was my experience as well.

Working at bars is fun stuff. Good stories all the time.
Oooh, sorry ntvl, that wasn't phrased in the form of a question.
hahaha!
Do you want ants, because this is how you get ants. 😅
