You're missing the point entirely. We all respect people who fight to defend us. The military doesn't fight to defend us. They fight to maintain the status quo and enrich big business. The worst thing is someone that fights, in your name, for something you don't actually want. Then pretends it is doing it for you and demands gratitude and respect.
