I am ok with paying a toll to use the highway or a gasoline tax, something that is proportional to the amount of public services I use.
Paying five grand per year or more just for sitting in your house is stupid. What are some old lady sits at our house it doesn’t go anywhere? Should she have to pay so much in taxes?

If you own a business, EVERY single fixture in your store is assessed property tax. I owned a bookstore and the shelves the books sat on were taxed. The display that had gee gaws on it was taxed. If I bought $1000 worth of books and none of them sold I was still taxed on the increase in my inventory at the end of the year. Its insane how much and how frequently we are taxed.
I'm a huge fan of the Business Permit and Occupational License I pay for based on the prior years gross revenue. So you could lose money net - have no fears, the county government is here to charge for the privilege. (Not to mention - it's $0 fee for up to $100,000, immediately jumps to a flat rate on the entire amount at $100,001 gross revenue, so earning that extra dollar costs you $190.)
The Founding Fathers revolted over so much less than what we put up with. Government "by the people, for the people" is just a giant corrupt, parasitic, and overreaching bunch of bureaucrats and grifters at this point.
