I don't know that it is sufficient. america was different because it was new and people saw was freedom was. and these people were the ones that didn't die from the trip or the wars, or the kids of these people.
thats long gone. your parents had less freedom than when it was founded. and you have even less than your parents.

imo you'd want to teach people how to have courage, but history says we lose in the end. we'd need far away land to go to, pretty much another planet, to do this again, with even more guardrails this time.
People generally revolt when things can't really get any worse. Boiling frogs and all that stuff, I guess. Proactively going out and killing your way to a better world doesn't work. It sure didn't for the idealists that went to communism 100 years ago in Russia..
All you and I can do is be responsible, teach our kids to be responsible, use common sense and think for themselves. If you do well in life, business etc. people will gradually come your way and ask how you pulled it off.

looking at reality in the eyes doesn't mean you don't wake up everyday trying to make things better and making your life work.
but you also take the necessary steps to ensure your long term survival. and if someone ever come by saying "its time" you do what you have to do.
while many will keep a blind hope and not be ready, because the truth doesn't look nice so they disregard it.
