Corp taxes get paid to the state so maybe it's the companies at risk of higher taxes, which eventually gets pushed down to the consumer. Perhaps that's the bandicoot in the bush that concerns them.

I heard the convo on the David Webb show, Sirius XM Patriot 125. A guest who is a Texas representative was discussing this topic.
Texas doesn't have a state income tax. It would be interesting to know more though.
