“The best is yet to come” was political rhetoric that, quite frankly, was proven undeliverable.
Anyone standing on the shaky foundation of pure optimism will continue to be let down because the truth of the matter is the worst is yet to come.
It would serve us better to face the music and give ourselves the best fighting chance by staring reality in the face instead of creating rainbows made out of unicorn farts.
We can’t make the right moves if we don’t admit what is clearly evident. I’m hoping Trump delivers this mantra today as he speaks to his base instead of pushing a false sense of automatic trust and positive outcomes. I fear he will continue to play politics as opposed to cutting to the chase.

We are Americans though. We are always overly positive. Until they start rounding us up I fear there won't be a true resistance or response.
