The issue is not so much the 537 elected officials, the issue is the millions of positions in the (unconstitutionally-created) federal administrative state, which now has more power than most local governments.

The Constitution is pretty clear on the part where the balance of power was always supposed to lean more heavily toward the states. The number of federal elected officials is fine. The amount of power the feds wield, mostly through regulatory agencies that can effect policy outside of proscribed legislative processes, is not.
