You need proof of citizenship, be a member of a CMP affiliated club (many can be joined for $20), and some sort of proof of marksmanship—but I believe a CC permit satisfies this. I did Project Appleseed as well, but check their website for other ways of satisfying this requirement.

to add, for proof of marksmanship if you're prior military your DD214 satisfies that requirement as well.
