Second, unless you're wearing an N95 mask, you're simply reducing big water droplets but sprays them into smaller particles that go farther. Especially taking into consideration the fact that everytime you touch your mask, you have basically transferred the viral load captured (if there's any) onto your hands that touches the tomatoes at the grocery. Sneezing into your arm as we have been taught since kindergarten is more effective than a mask.
Now, if you need empirical evidence, Florida is generally mask free. California is not. South Dakota is mask free North Dakota is not. The infection rate in these places do not support the mask usage rates.
