This has been going on for a long long time. If you remember that movie PCU that came out in 1994, it was based on the writers experiences in school. We used to and still do laugh at those people, believing they will get straightened out or crushed in the real world, "whos going to hire someone with a gender studies degree", we would say.
But that didnt happen, those people did get jobs. They got jobs in media dictating what is presented, in the government dictating policy, in schools dictating curriculum, in HRs at corporations dictating company policy.... We laughed at them, but we are not laughing now, far from it.
