What country before ever existed a century & half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms. the remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. what signify a few lives lost in a century or two? the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. it is it's natural manure.

We declared Independence on July 4, 1776. After the declaration the British still occupied the US, sending more troops, more arms and forcing even worse laws. Yet the patriots still remained peaceful. Even after land was taken, people were imprisoned patriots remained peaceful.
Our founding fathers did not fire a shot in anger until April of 1777, when the British finally decided to come after their guns, by force. Not by bullshit rhetoric, not by signing laws, not by writing op-Ed pieces in newspapers, but forcibly marching on Concord and Lexington to actually seize guns from the patriots.
THEN and only THEN did the founding fathers take up arms and fire the shot heard round the world.
We are not even close to this point. Yes, democrats say things like we are going to take your guns, but it only empty rhetoric, things morons say. If they took 10 guns a second, it would take over 10 years to take every gun in the US. This is not possible, ever.
The founding fathers fired only in defense, advocating firing a shot offensively is the antithesis of every principle the founding fathers stood for.

I think modern times makes your point less relevant. They won't go door to door seizing guns, it isn't 1980. When the time comes they will use the faceless bureaucracy sending people letters requiring them to turn in their guns to armored collection points or have government transfer payments cut off (SSN, medicare, medicaid, student loans, stimulus checks, UBI) and through compliant corporations cut off financial services, health care, social media, utilities, etc. Most families couldn't sustain having these things cut off. If everyone waited till this point, as you suggest everyone should, there will be no practical way to act in defense.
