A valid point on the gun laws. Good people have trouble getting legal guns and it's a travisty. Bad guys get guns however and whenever they want. Dirty guns, black market guns, stolen guns. City cops predominantly aren't taking good citizens guns. Just good guys have trouble getting them and bad guys can get one anytime they want. Hence violence from bad guys and good guys not being able to defend themselves. Corrupt judges and legislators. Look at chicago. This city cops are desperately trying to stop the chaos. But it is literally them vs the world. Why would we want to add to their burden?
If it is the job of the police to defend people from aggressors, allowing citizens the means of protecting themselves only reduces the burden on police.
On the other hand, if it is the job of police to enforce mandates of the State, then yes having a well armed populace does make that more difficult.

Every cop has not agreed to as part of his job to enforce laws, all of them. Officer discretion is a thing. And what does "good" mean? Cops arrest a murderer and he's back on the streets in a day. Who's fault? Judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys. The system is broken without a doubt. But it does not start or end with the police. It's beyond that. You see a bad guy doing a bad thing, what do you do? Call 911 normally. Someone's breaking into your home what do you do? Call 911 normally. Obv defend yourself but most people call 911. Most people can't defend themselves. We can't "disown" the police. If we do the fight is even more dire and hopeless than I imagined.

Some will say they will do it, but those are the cowards who've never really been in it or done anything and when push comes to shove they will cave. I'm a Veteran and I'm discussed how the Military has created a fortress in DC to protect the worst scum I've ever seen while they are treated like trash made to sleep in parking garages. Then you have high-ranking officials like that scumbag LTG Honore who's siding with Pelosi and threatening Trump supporters. The police have also become utter useless shitheads.
