It's a nice sentiment, but some people are just damaged goods for lack of a better description, and no amount of well-wishing or acts of goodness will change their twisted perspective on the world. They will always seek to do you harm regardless what you do, which is why sometimes you have to stand up for what's right and fight back against the things you know in your heart are wrong, even when everyone is telling you otherwise.
