I just watched a movie called DEADWOOD which supposedly took place back in the late 1800s and noticed that even back then there were corrupt fucking politicians but at least back then if they got caught fucking with you you could call the fuckers out and shoot them.

Watch the series. It's great. Ian McShane's character is brilliant and David Milch's writing is intoxicating.
