While I agree wholeheartedly with the good father, I must disagree with him on one point. When I go to Mass, or indeed any service, I expect to hear the gospel preached and to hear a lesson on how I might better lead a more Christ-like life. I don’t expect, nor do I want to hear politics from the pulpit, any more than I want to hear religious haranguing in the street.

I will willingly and gladly hear the father’s teachings on matters of faith and morals, just not in public forae.

Likewise, I will listen and debate politics with the good priest gladly, just not in a religious setting.

I believe that was his point. He was free to preach the gospel under Trump. Now he must adhere to the LGBTQP agenda, which Pope Che pushes.

why does he have to adhere to that agenda? He has to adhere to the true teachings of the Catholic Church.

I don't know much about the Catholic religion, but I believe that the Pope sets some level of teaching.

On matters of faith and morals he furthers or reiterates what has been stated through the centuries by prior Popes drawing from scripture, the catechism, church fathers, councils and encyclicals (which are written to respond to current cultural issues only but are general guidance). Our current Pope, certainly hops around in thought a lot but he is also misquoted like crazy. He is also not a theologian or philosopher like what we have had in the past so his writings are not as rich. Don't get me wrong, probably about half of our bishops in the US are very liberal and the other half very strong. I give up on commenting further on our current Pontiff. Church teachings have not changed.

I would say that my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, would argue that point with you based on His violent outburst in the Temple when He single handedly upended the tables of the heretics and money changers. A political AND religious statement if ever there was one. Be more like Christ and upend the tables of the evil doers. His church does not always have walls and a roof.

By this statement alone you are proving you haven't read scripture. Poltics are 100% supposed to be in the church. Without the knowledge of politics our founders would have never been able to move the body of christ to fight the revolutionary war.

Preists are supposed to teach those inside the congregation what's right and what's wrong by the gospel.

Get out of the Catholic church that vile and openly proven throughout History disgusting organization. To even consider being apart of such evil is very strange.

There is no aspect of life that politics is not encroaching upon. Hearing the latest dirt about the local drain commissioner or the minutia of legislative procedures, or what a dope Mitch McConnell is - no, not really a good use of sermon time. But the philosophy and effects of politics is very important teaching matter for a homily - as example, the effects of recently passed “equality” (transgender) bills on the Church, the Catholic understanding of the human person and gender, and why it’s incompatible with Wokeness, etc - all very much needed, as well as tackling the pursuit of supernatural virtue, the nature of Grace, the four last things, etc. Every age has its crises, but to not address the political battlefield at all in this time of global ideological war is to be asleep at the pulpit. Woke-ism/Marxism is a religion and well as a politic - many Christians who are not taught or realize on their own why Woke-ism is a false religion are jumping ship and leaving their Faith for it.

Because a bunch of butt hurt Catholics are down voting people in the comments, here's an old joke about them:

Three men die and go to heaven. St. Peter meets them at the pearly gates.

He says to the first man, "Welcome to Heaven! Back on Earth, what denomination were you?"

The first man say, "I was a devout Presbyterian".

St. Peter says, "Excellent! Then go to door 10, but when you pass door number 2, be very quiet."

He then asks the second man, "When you were on Earth, what denomination were you?"

The second man replies, "I was the pastor of my Methodist church!"

St. Peter says, "Wonderful! Make your way to door 6, but when you pass door 2, be very quiet."

St. Peter asks the last man, "What denomination were you on Earth?"

The man says, "I was Lutheran. Part of the Missouri Synod."

St. Peter says, "You know the drill. Go to door 12, but be very quiet when you pass door 2."

The last man says, "Why is it we need to be so quiet when we go past door 2?"

St. Peter replies, "Because that's where the Catholics are and they think they're the only ones here."

It's because the Catholic church has been fully infiltrated by the CIA and the jewish interests that control it and our government. It is precisely why NO government agency should have been secretive and have secrets like the CIA has. If there is reason to keep something secret for a short period, so be it, but EVERYTHING else should be open and known to the public. Secrecy is how we were infiltrated at the top to the point where the CIA is controlling the whole coup against the american people because the oversight was NEVER good enough.

Just remember both Clapper and Brennan LIED to Congress in public, openly, on record. Only a retard would believe that was the first time!!!!

Too bad all the catholics on the supreme court don't share his perspective. With the exception of only Thomas and Alito, they would rather follow the orders of the filthy commie in the Vatican than our laws.

Newsflash: Roman Catholic Church and all organized religions are PEDOFILE CULTS! No one NEEDS a religion to follow Jesus!

Ah yes, another "aLL oRgANizED rEliGiOnS aRe bAd" visionary.

You're wrong, but I'm sure your ignorance won't stop you from having an opinion.

Which is why the fact that both the CIA and the supreme court are so disproportionately catholic (7 catholics, 2 jews, ZERO protestants) is so troubling.

100% correct.

Like imagine finding out that the baptists or lutherans have a kabal of Pedophile priests who can't be judged and are instead just sent away to another place and the churches just pay off the people who were wronged. Think about that and tell me if anyone would remain?

Yet the Catholics including some of family are so thick headed and stupid they have no self esteem or moral dignity to just say " yeahh I'm out of this wickedness". They've been lied to all their lives thinking for some reason that the catholic church with all her idols and blasphemous doctrine is the only way. Truly sick.

Organized religion was the original communism. "Tithe" is just another way to spell "Tax". At least the muslims call it like it is with their "jizz ya".

spez: triggered downvoters should realize the reason communists are targeting churches with the lockdowns is because they are competitors in the same industry. Branch Covidian is their new religion and the mask is their holy symbol.
