Basically, it means going old school and writing checks.
OF COURSE it isn’t THAT easy —- you should also invest a little time and call the candidates INDIVIDUAL CAMPAIGN, and find out EXACTLY what the campaign organization’s legal name is, and the mailing address. Ask also if they have a sharing agreement with WinRed. If they do, ask them if they have a way to specifically donate without sharing with WinRed. If they do know—- GREAT, If they don’t know, tell them they should find out.
In any event: When you write your check, in the “memo” section (yes, you have to write tiny!) write “for XXXX campaign ONLY - do NOT share with WinRed”. This has legal implications, believe it or not!
A cover letter stating that includes something along the lines of “. . . I am making this donation to the XXXX Campaign with the intention that it will be used strictly by the XXXX Campaign and is not to be shared with any other candidate, PAC, or entity...”
You get the idea.
Tell the GOP reps that are asking for donations that they must first challenge any and all COVID mandates in their state, take them to the court, and win, thus overturning the mandates completely. Then and only then are they worthy of even being considered for donations.
That the GOP hasn't done this in every state where the mandates are in place is a massive red flag.
I've never sent a dime to any political campaign, in the 59 years of living and the 41 years of involving myself in elections, by voting. Me not sending money or trying to buy influence hasn't changed anything I stand for, nor has it hurt my respected party in any way they have not continued. I don't donate because I feel donating to a party for political gain is wrong. If they can't win an election on the merits of what they claim during the campaign run, than they don't need to be elected any position past Wal Mart stock personal.
