And a balanced budget amendment.

And repeal the Federal Reserve Act.

Restore a gold standard

Term limits for ALL government jobs. 15 years maximum in government/public sector. No more 45 year career bureaucrats.

Do away with government pensions. 5% match to a retirement account. Take it or leave it.

No publicly funded security for Congress. If you can't walk among the people, you don't represent them.

Election DAY. Not weeks. All ballots must be cast in a single day. No acceptance of ballots once polls are closed.

All politicians must use and pay for public health care, with the exception of the president.

In Arkansas, a bill must be read at least 3 times before it can be passed. This is an effective length limiter. More effective than a page limit (as they can just adjust the font to a micro size if they felt like it).

However, I've heard recent complaining that reading the bill minimum of 3 times has not actually happened on many bills that passed.

Hippopoonis [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I would be surprised if they even read the bill once.

There has to be two more bullets:

No bill will be based upon the general welfare clause

All bills involving the commerce clause have to involve direct exchange of goods between states.

How do we get term limits? What process would it take? Is it impossible because bureaucracy?

11
Hippopoonis [S] 11 points ago +12 / -1

It's impossible because the people in charge of making term limits the law are the same ones writing the laws.

So it is the war that never ends.

I guess the best we can do is try to enjoy it?

The Turdle says we already have term limits: Elections. That's the imbecility we're dealing with.

Well said.

OneBigMaga 3 points ago +4 / -1

Well, first we "get rid of" all the current swamp rats. We let the new politicians know we want term limits, and if it doesn't happen, we "get rid of" them too.

By "get rid of" I mean that we vote them out, obviously.

It will only be possible through an Article V convention of states.

1
Kane 1 point ago +2 / -1

I respectfully disagree. A Article V Convention (ConCon) can be very dangerous. It will be used to replace our current Constitution with one we conservatives donโ€™t like. (imho) we just need to get back to following the Constitution we have.

2
Hippopoonis [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

The founders were very wise when they crafted Article V.

Democrats of today couldn't jump through the hoops to change anything through a convention of states. They rely on the courts...Which is against the Constitution itself i.e. Roe vs Wade, Obamacare, etc.

If our reps were actually elected we wouldn't need this.

Whoever drives that truck and wrote that sign, should put their money where their mouth is and run for office!

Bill Stuffing is Unconstitutional.

Infowars.com.

2
COanon 2 points ago +2 / -0

I would add that "No demoncrap or rino will issue any bill EVER".

Each and every bill the demoncraps issues continues to destroy our Constitution and destroys America economically and destroying the American family/citizen.

2
RealHappyFeet 2 points ago +2 / -0

This makes too much sense for politicians to ever use this. They can't hide their pork in bills made like this.

2
1SaltyNarcissist 2 points ago +2 / -0

I mean yes and no. Obviously we have great examples of why no with our current situation. If you think of the same extreme on the other side nothing will be passed. Everything inmortant will be fillabustered with BS bills running out the clock everyday

de9ebkmd7 2 points ago +2 / -0

Bills should also describe how to measure the success or failure of the bill. If the bill can't meet its goal then it becomes void.

Those are good rules.

I agree with this. I also know it will never happen while any of these swamp rats are still alive.

Ok, Einstein. Please tell us all with your infinite wisdom how Democrats and Republicans, who are shitting all over our Constitution, are getting away with this garbage.

I'll wait...
