Rural areas everywhere are taking the hit from this.

Half of the country was just told to work from home for a year.

You think they're going back to commuting an hour each way to sit in a cubicle?

You think their boss wants to pay a $10,000/mo lease to have them all sitting in cubicles now that they just dropped $100k on remote infrastructure?

Fuck. No.

Every big city will see a major decline from this.

Restaurants are already closing by the thousands.

When the workers don't come back to the cubicle, the sandwich shop downstairs will never re-open.

Office buildings will sit empty.

Then John and Jane Doe have to ask themselves, why are they paying $3,000/mo to rent a 1 bedroom apartment in San Francisco/Portland/NYC/Seattle/LA/ETC when the cities are turning into homeless camps and they work from home anyway. They don't need to commute to the office, so why live by the office in expensive housing with less and less amenities?

We're at the precipice of a major collapse in urban areas, and commercial real estate in particular.

If you can think of a way to make money off of it, and have the means, now is the time.

Otherwise, protect your own assets and bail while you can. Don't be left holding the bag.

Yup. This adds to my concerns about long term life here.

Rural property within 3 hrs of Portland is selling fast and expensive. Also the expectation/anticipation of Elon's satellite skynet. I have city friends shopping the countryside thanks to that.

Dems are a virus that is now turning pandemic. Their voting habits are coming to open spaces near you.
