China is a legitimate problem. Not that we don't have other problems.

China is a competitor not a direct aggressor

they have decayed our political class and our corporations while growing their technology and infrastructure by leaps and bounds

by fighting a silent war, exploiting our grifting politicians and stealing OR simply being handed our technology, they can overtake us as the world's biggest economy and average standard of living. This will be the ultimate victory, vindication of a state model that requires Dictatorship and Authoritarianism but combines it with a oligarchy class that enjoys great wealth. The poor and needy will be silenced, whereas in the open capitalist society the institutions have been subverted to bring the (relatively well off) American havenots to the forefront of the social discussion, to distract and divide while they leapfrog us.

We'll have to just disagree. I see the CCP directly warring against us using Eastern tactics.

define "Eastern tactics"

my point was that they're not spoiling for a war, rather they have used soft power just like Belt and Road, just like infiltrating and stealing technology from Big corporations, just like putting dirty dollars in the politicians pockets. I'm not saying they're not a threat at all, it's just that I listen to a few thinkers who strongly believe that the push for military confrontation with China is a construct of forces outside the US who want to see both parties weakened

Eastern tactics: those that follow strategies listed in The Art of War.
