Dead women tell no tales.... I'm sure she's privy to a lot of the business dealings Chapo had with governments around the Globe. Number one on that list being the US. Government!
I'd imagine they got most of that info from El C aleady. And, it'd easier to lock her up and throw away the key like they did for him rather than to risk a lot of repercussions from the cartel.
The Government answer to organised crime always has unintended consequences. They take out a Kingpin and all his lieutenants are battling for the chance to be the new King. It invariably ends up a royal shit show. That was a lesson the Gentlemen of Cali learned early. They did their business quietly with the minimum of fuss. No heads at the side of the road. They ran an empire like Bezos does. Just cocaine instead of Chinese goods.
If America and Europe didn't have an insatiable appetite for coke and the CIA didn't need the money to fund their illegal coups in Latin America, Guzman, Escobar and the Gentlemen of Cali would still be planting potatoes and working labouring jobs. That is all...
Blaming the cartels for Mexico's ails is simplistic at best, but I do appreciate and respect your reply Fren. Its like blaming the Talibs in Sinjar Province for the Heroin epidemic. They are opportunistic criminals too. One with the added legitimacy of religion and a war with the West, but ultimately no better or worse than Guzman. I respect anyone who can seize that much power. Plata Y Plomo is how he did it. I respect him far more than any hedge fund creep billionaire. The world is filled with them
Just didn't do any good with it. The people suffered. Same with Chavez or Cuba bad shit. Just because. Chaps gives out a few xmas gifts doesn't mean he's not protecting his cartel money and gives not a crap about his community and would get a henchmen to beahead them on the side of the road.
Of course. He was/is/will always be a reprehensible human, but grew out of the decay of a dying system. Like so many tyrants. At least his only affectations were monetary and not political, although Sinaloa cartel at various points ran every part of the Mexican government. I can tell you are morally outraged by him and by my apparent endorsement. I find his type to be an archetype... you find them anywhere corruption exists or prohibition. I despise the hypocrisy of the US government and their deceitful War On Drugs. A war they lost 7 decades ago. Prohibition gave us Capone and the W.O.D. gave us Chapo Guzman.
Don't think he'll be using that thing any time soon, knowing where he's at. He's probably doing good when he can get a look at the sky.
Did you see they just pulled in Mrs Chapo (his woman) she is in custody now as an accessory after the fact.
She should be done for, also, unless Biden and his crew would rather have her doing business for a fee.

Chapo Guzman.... never knowingly undersold.

Not schilling for green haired drug addicts or C.I.A. either. They are part of the problem too.
