I've never owned any Ariats but I know lots of people love them. I only have Justin, Tecovas, and Lucchese. All good choices and I don't think any of those are made overseas.
There are plenty of US made boots. But Ariat, Wolverine, Thorogood, Red Wing, Justin, Danner, among a few big ones, all have set up chicom or Asian factories. It's not that they are worse quality but they are definitely overcharging since the US made are sold at the same cost, and are financing our enemy.
Lately, I just go to my local cobbler to see what he's got. There maybe a local maker near you, usually you'll spend a bit more but end up with a higher-quality product made for you rather than something generic and poorly fitting.
Why do you think the whole country started selling square toe boots? It was called out-sourcing our manufacturing to maximize profit with reduced labor costs. It made China and the politicians richer and made dang near every cowboy in the country look like a dingo boy.
Just look up USA made cowboy boots.
Frankly, anytime you want anything look to see if there is a version made in USA first.

Website says they are made in mexico but designed in Austin.
Well sonofabitch that's why Wilkow stopped endorsing them. Makes sense
Tecovas makes the best boots, and there made in USA
Been rockin' Thorogoods for last few years. Don't do cowboy boots but their work boots are top-notch and made in the USA.
Yeah, there is. It's called prosperity.

Red Wings or GTFO.
Meh. I got some, all US made, they are meh. There are better boots out there.
Search for local manufacturers of whatever you're looking for. Many of them will have a small store selling their products.
