One might think that they made a mistake and now they are backtracking but it's not that simple, there is way more to it. When they started the defind the police movement all the good officers said f*** this I'm out, all that was left was these subservient, weak, corrupt officers who would do anything they are told, the real oath breakers, they are just there for the money, they know that they won't be able to put food on the table if they don't have this job, they cannot do anything else. Now with the new round of hiring, they will make sure that the new group of people are of the same category, who can be manipulated into doing whatever the police state wants, officers who would do anything they are told to keep their job. That way the administration will have the police who can implement their unconstitutional and unlawful rules and regulations without blinking. It was a well thought out and well-coordinated effort, it was not just a mistake which they are backtracking.
