I saw a Van Gogh at the fine arts museum. There's the Edgar Allen Poe museum. Maymont park is pretty. People seem to like the botanical gardens, and then of course there's the raceway for racing fan people.
Also, the food was insanely good up until this coming bullshit. Seriously, something happened in the 15 years I was gone. All these amazing restaurants popped up.
I miss the breweries. I got a membership to the VMFA for Christmas in '19 and got to go once before it shut down. I think it is open again but they didn't extend my membership. Everything is crazy expensive.
I have to say when they were busily burning city busses and tearing down statues the Mayor did nothing to stop them. At the end of Monument Ave. is/was (the family may have moved it) a statue of tennis great Arthur Ashe. It remained pristine. Finally someone painted White Lives Matter on it. It was cleaned IMMEDIATELY and protected.
And what REALLY pissed me off was on July 4, 2020, Mayor LeVar Stoney made these people remove a giant American flag that was draped on the side of a new building under construction because he said "it would send the wrong message". Fuck Richmond.
My favorite restaurant, Asados, was destroyed during the riots. Permanently closed now. Best wings I’ve ever had. Fries and queso were damn good too. It’s a real shame

All dead now, of course.
Nothing worth heading into the city for anymore.
