Ask what they learned in school, ask specific questions about their social science/woke topics, about what they are being taught about American history, etc.
We spend a short time (10-15min) everyday talking about it and I correct anything that, basically, is not true.
Sometimes we watch a 5min PragerU video and talk through it to make sure all concepts are understood (ex. capitalism vs. socialism)
We started Rush Revere series, reading it together. It's well written history with a lot of humor.

8-14, I'd say. Though I enjoy it a LOT. I think it's really meant for kids & parents to read together.
