Texas population grew 3.5 million between 2010 and July 2018. That is "Normal" you don't grow your population 35%+ in 4 years.

Texas has been slipping for a while now, I remember during Bush people were concerned with the gains the Dems were making there. That turnout in Texas was in the heavily populated cities and there are just more Democrats there than Republicans.
