I'm a biologist and I say it too but not when employees because the liberals have made factual science "hate speech".

Guess we need to go back to the days of not doubting them about the Earth being the center of the universe.

He's right.

John Money, the guy who invented Transgender was a sick, SICK motherfucker and pedophile. He'd be in prison right now if he didn't die for what he did to his test case. Those two kids are dead because they couldn't handle what he did to them.

The DSM (DSM V) clearly labels Transgerism as Gender Dysphoria, which is labeled as a mental illness.

A sex change is physically impossible. A male transgender will never have ovaries, will never get pregnant, and will never have the correct pair of chromosomes. Women transgender will never be able to produce sperm, they will never be able to compete physically with real men.

He's right on both points. It cannot be denied. It's literally science.

Also, John's Hopkin's is THE Ivy league of medical schools. Only the absolute best of the best go there, teach there, and practice there.

snuggs316 5 points ago +5 / -0

there was a change to the dsm in either '09 or '11, that removed transgenderism as a mental illness. the article suggests jh no longer performs gender re-assignment surgery; but it was written in 2015, so....

there used to be rules prior to the change, in order to get the surgery; living as a woman for 2 years w/o hormones while undergoing psychotherapy. also, it used to be that a transgender would never tell you in casual conversation, that they were trans...telling defeated the entire purpose of the transition. maybe the person appeared a lil masculine or feminine (depending on the direction of the trans) but you were never sure and they weren't telling.

If a man in a dress pretending to be a woman commits a crime and leaves blood at the scene, does anyone think they're going to be looking for a woman after testing it?

5
borscht-nazi 5 points ago +6 / -1

Thing is, it doesn't matter anymore. You can't convince the True Believers, they are brainwashed, and the reason, logic, facts, actual research data, nothing really can convince them.

I highly recommend reading Robert Jay Lifton's "Thought Reform and the Psychology of Totalism" to further understand the subject and, perhaps, develop a more adequate approach than trying to meet them head-to-head, which just will not work.

Here's a short summary: https://www.cultrecover.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/lifton8criteria.pdf

In 10 - 15 years, people will look back at how barbaric and uneducated these procedures are. It's sad that so many people's lives will be ruined because of this ideology.

Lol body dysmorphia. Gender dysmorphia. They are disorders...

3

Yeah. Chromosomes are a thing. Why don't liberals believe in science?

1
ikeepforgettingname 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's why Google and Merriam Webster changed their dictionaries on the definition if Gender. They shift the goal post to "Gender" not "Sex".

Should have made a legal definition of Gender before Trump was out of office.

Fags and women in denial

2
mobgrazer 2 points ago +2 / -0

Exactly.

There are mental disorders where people think they shouldn't have limbs and should be amputees, doctors don't then go chop off limbs. But if people think they shouldn't have a dick or breasts they will. It is barbaric.

If someone is anorexic and thinks they should starve themselves to death you don't celebrate their difference and help them starve, you treat the mental disorder.

A - yes

B - opinions vary

This is one guy disagreeing with everyone else. Let me know when you get a dozen.

4
Proud_American 4 points ago +4 / -0

Wait, a dozen is the magic number?

Seriously, it’s already labeled as a disorder. It’s no opinion.

-1
becky21k1 -1 points ago +1 / -2

It's like you people can't even fucking read, I said it's a disorder.

I mean imagine being this emotionally fucked up you can't even comprehend two points in a row, you have to insert your views and act like the other person is wrong even when they said the same fucking thing you did.

Liberals do that. If you claim to be conservative, you should be better than that and ashamed of yourself.

1
Proud_American 1 point ago +1 / -0

Your two points in a row are at odds with one another. You can’t recognize it as a disorder AND an opinion.

I think you need to simmer down a tad.

1
becky21k1 1 point ago +1 / -0

LMAO we can't even understand english here.

First part I agreed with, second part is just an opinion.

Holy shit and I thought liberals were stupid.

1
Proud_American 1 point ago +1 / -0

What, specifically, are you labeling an opinion?

1
becky21k1 1 point ago +1 / -0

Wow, we still can't follow basic English. Or read a sentence in order. Two points were attempted to be made. One is a fact. One is an opinion. In that order.

1
Proud_American 1 point ago +1 / -0

“Two points were attempted to be made.” You said a mouthful.

There was no opinion anywhere in the article. I’ll give ya one last chance to save face. What is it you think is an opinion?

1
Waffleyumboy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Why?

1
theunexpectable 1 point ago +1 / -0

Everyone talks about the men pretending to be women but what about the women pretending to be men?

I've been lied to by a close friend whom I recently found out was actually a woman. She needs to learn where she belongs.

1
LostViking1985 1 point ago +1 / -0

Even if we ever got to the level of medical science and technology where we could completely switch someone's body to the opposite gender, it is fundamentally impossible for a person to change gender? Why? Because to TRULY change gender not only means major anatomical changes, it also means rewriting the sex chromosomes (and thus part of your DNA) in every cell in your body. At that point, the person you were ceases to exist. An entirely different person has now been created. If we ever truly reach that level of ability, "transgender" will be a meaningless word, because complete alteration would be possible.

2
Shalomtoyou 2 points ago +2 / -0

Now you got me wondering.

If there was man... 23 ordered pairs of chromosomes to make 46, two of which were XY. If that Y was changed to an X, making a woman who shared the exact 45 chromosomes of the previous male self with the sole exception of changing the Y to an X...

How much would she hold in common to the man that existed?

1
murrbag 1 point ago +1 / -0

As the Y chromosome’s primary influences are male sex determination in early development and sperm production in later life, hypothetically replacing all of a fully grown man’s Y chromosomes with X chromosomes (this isn’t possible) would likely have no effect at all except for maybe interfering with sperm production. Your male phenotype or ‘maleness’ (and by this I mean things like larger muscle mass, higher bone density, deeper voice, having a penis and testicles, narrower pelvis, masculine facial bone structure, larger hands and feet) is permanent and irreversible once you have grown and developed under the influence of a Y chromosome. Interesting thought experiment!

2
Shalomtoyou 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah, I'm just trying it as a thought experiment.

So our hypothetical tranny who we used the magic machine on to shift Y to X while leave the rest of the genes intact would be disappointed because they lack the internal organs that would have been formed in the womb.

So if we delve further into science fiction -- which we might as well, because we already used the magic machine to shift Y chromosomes to X ....

What if we hypothesize that we make a clone of the man and grow it all the way from embryo. With the exception of changing the Y to X. Maybe mirroring the existing X chromosome (since men are YX after all). Or, let's say you got the permission of the man's father to "donate" his X chromosome. (What he would have been conceived with if fate had a different throw of the dice)

Make the embryo that would develop as a girl, but otherwise identical with the same 45 chromosome pairs as the adult male...

If we're really sick, you might use this baby as a source of "parts" to transplant to the transgendered person. Which I'm sure they're fine with, because there's no source of depravity too grotesque for them....

What was my point...

It would be interesting if they went through all this work and the would-be changeling's body still rejected the new organs.

1
murrbag 1 point ago +1 / -0

In the case of taking an embryo cloned from a man and switching the Y chromosomes with X chromosomes, the resulting adult once developed with two X chromosomes would be a biologically normal woman who is not in any way transgendered as she had two X chromosomes from the beginning of embryonic development. The same applies in reverse.

If you then transplanted organs from one of these people to the other or from a baby with the same 22 chromosome pairs (not 45 as X and Y are 2 out of 46 chromosomes made up of pairs of chromosome 1 through 22 as well as X and Y), there would likely be no rejection because these clones would be tissue matches by virtue of being clones. Even the difference conferred by the pair having XX and XY chromosomes would likely not make a difference as the proteins which govern rejection are produced by genes on the other 22 chromosome pairs. So the result would be a phenotypic male with organs implanted from a tissue-matched phenotypic female or vice versa. Intergender organ transplantation is a daily occurrence with all transplantable organs (heart, liver, lungs etc.) and the recipient is no more male or female after having received organs from a man or a woman.

2
Shalomtoyou 2 points ago +2 / -0

How much would you anticipate these people would want to pursue such a ... Frankenstein miracle?

Though interestingly enough, I can think of no amount of surgical transplants that would get our hypothetical individual the bone structure that he would have had if developed female from the start (or vice versa). Women's hip structures, for instance, are wider to accommodate her body during the birthing process. With a male bone structure, I doubt they could survive childbirth, even if the organs were implanted.

1
murrbag 1 point ago +1 / -0

I wouldn't anticipate that they would pursue it at all because to do so would be to concede that gender is conferred by biology at conception.

Once an organism has developed as a certain gender it is permanent. No amount of surgery will change it. Just to push the science fiction trope a bit further: even if you transplanted every cell from one to the other without killing them you would end up back where you started.

1
Shalomtoyou 1 point ago +1 / -0

I just mused with someone else on this thread that there are thousands of changes that happen to a male fetus in the womb. All embryos develop as female at first. But the male fetuses have a surge of hormones that create a tremendous amount of changes as the fetus develops as a male while in utero.

I can't imagine that being replicated outside the womb.

But I will disagree with you on one thing: I think there is no end to the amount of surgical operations these folks will desire to get as close as humanly possible to their impossible dream. They are not going to stop chasing after that rainbow.

1
LostViking1985 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's a deep and important question. That one sex chromosome difference represents thousands of genes. We are still learning what all those genes do, but everything that creates all the vast differences in the genders is contained in that chromosome pair.

They are both undoubtedly human, but how might a person develop differently if given a different gender (the hypothetical 'complete' swap here)? Especially puberty. I suspect it would be more different than identical twins, maybe more like non-identical twins.

1
Shalomtoyou 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well, we saw in Money's study with the poor Reimer boys that environment is certainly not the sole aspect of gender identity. Had that experiment proceeded with Money somehow able to swap the damaged child's Y chromosome with an X, it would be curious to see what the results would be.

(That's not covering the complete immoral, Mengele-type lack of professional ethics that one would have to suffer from to conduct such a study.).

Come to think of it.... reflecting back on the Money study, I was wondering if the introduction of Estrogen hormones would have been sufficient -- then realized that Money probably intended that from the beginning. So clearly hormones was insufficient.

And if I recall correctly from the science of pregnancy, all embryos start as female. But if the baby is a YX, then there is a release of hormones that cause the fetus -- and the fetus's brain -- to undergo hundreds or thousands of chemical changes.

I can't imagine any way to replicate that after birth, even if you could grow the perfect clone in a vat.

2
LostViking1985 2 points ago +2 / -0

Your last point is very true, and similar to what I was suggesting. In reality there simply is no way to "swap" someone's gender and still retain the same person. The brain has so many countless connections, molded and structured in response to infinitely many small and large stimuli. You could never replicate an exact brain - though you could perhaps scan them one day.

1
Shalomtoyou 1 point ago +1 / -0

And scanning a brain wouldn't help the transsexual's dilemma. Even with science-fiction, I can't think of a way to alter the brain that way.

(Though I suspect, if we left science-fiction for pure fantasy, and instead of doing science we talked about magic wishes and similar flights of fancy -- that even that kind of transformation would not bring them happiness).
