Once upon a time,
There was a group of happy frogs who just wanted to be left alone to live their own lives and enjoy their family and friends. They wanted peace and harmony with all of their neighbors, even the lizard people who had a bad track record.
But the lizard people decided that they didn't like that the frogs were happier than them. Since the lizard people had twisted souls, they could never be happier, so they decided to make the frogs just as miserable as them.
They almost succeeded, delivering a near fatal blow to the frog leader, and trying to keep the frogs from talking to each other. But the frogs got up and dusted themselves off and got back in the fight.
Remembering the lessons of the Founding Frogs, the webbed-foot-warriors took their power back from the lizard people one state at a time. Soon all the other animals saw what had been happening the whole time and pitched in to help the frogs finish off the lizard people once and for all.
And the frogs lived happily ever after, but remained vigilant to ensure that the lizard people never got a foothold again.

I loved learning the story of the original Pedes and how the frog lore started. I came here from a different corner of the internet, but really love my frog brothers. Their humor and resilience has meant a ton to me.
Thought I'd show some homage to these great people: to the OG Pedes!!!! You guys rock.

Some else mentioned that idea. I think one Pede asked me if he could do so. I said sure, and offered to split the royalties with him 50/50.
I'd even allow poetic license if someone wanted to expand upon it and improve the quality.
I loved writing this story and would love it if Pedes around the country were reading it to their tadpoles. That vision puts a smile on my face.
So, creative people, take the ball and run with it. The initial story is about the extent of my creativity.
