american football. basketball. etc.. are products of white culture. They've been almost completely appropriated by black culture. I don't care. and framing it like this makes me sound racist. I am not. It is merely to illustrate my point. Dreads and corn rows also were not originally invented by blacks either supposedly. Classical music. The Sax. Most orchestral instruments. Judeo-Christian thought and Greek philosophy. Modern technology is a bi product of Greek thought.

All the crying about cultural appropriation is maddening when "white" culture is appropriated by more people around than world than any other culture. And then it is claimed that there is no "white" culture. That we are cultureless. funny.

Came here to say this. You give them power over you by being afraid to be 'racist'

They appropriate everything because they built nothing. Except gangsta rap.

And you definitely need to not give a fuck about "sounding racist" because that's buying into their insane narratives. They can get fucked and go cry in a safe space. It doesn't matter what you say anyway - they have an agenda - you can state an absolute truth like "water is wet" and they will find some way to make it RAYCISS. Victims gonna victim as long as playing the victim gets them what they want.

I mean for fucks sake, they tried to claim bubble tea as a black thing, these people are fucktards of the highest order and the lowest IQ.

The perfect example of "cultural appropriation" is the good-luck associated right-facing swastika adopted by the nazis (but they actually half-rotated it), and from there it became forever associated with nazis. The left-rotated one is still used commonly in Japan as a symbol for temples on maps (known as a "manji"), and Hirosaki city uses it as it's official symbol too. Except that lefties are too dumb to notice the difference and for them all is nazi nazi nazi.

All the rest is just culture being culture, but there again the left is screaming "cultural appropriation" without thinking, and trying to argue with them on the subject is just a waste of time.

Academic answer: it's derived from Marx's idea of "class appropriation". In the 60s, Marcuse et al tried to marry Marx and Freud to attack culture. That came out in "cultural studies" and other idiot sociology ideas.

You can trace it from an entry by British painter Kenneth Coutts‐Smith in a 1976 book entitled “The Myth of Primitivism”, chapter “Some General Observations on the Concept of Cultural Colonialism”. Originally referred to in “Rebellion or Revolution?” (1968) by professor of African American Studies, Harold Cruse.

Culture doesn't belong to an individual. It barely belongs to a group or race. It's indistinguishable from exchange or honour.
