You don't understand the meaning of the word fascism. The term does not describe a political affiliation. Its simply a central power exerting excessive control over the lives of individuals. That's it. Communists ARE fascistic in that they want total control over people. You have bought into the Left's propaganda that only right wing movements are "fascist" and that "fascist' means "right wing". It doesn't. They do that to smear traditionalism and nationalism, because fascism is a bad word describing a bad thing.
I also think you don't understand that political directions are a continuum, and if you go extremely far to the right you end up on the left, and if you go extremely far to the left you end up on the right. Both the Nazis and the Communists wanted a socialist system. Both the Nazis and the Communists banned political dissent. Both the Nazis and the Communists controlled all media and communications to control information people were exposed to, both the Nazis and the Communists murdered and imprisoned citizens for "wrong think". Both the Nazis and the Communists picked out certain demographics for scorn and exile and imprisonment and extermination. For the Nazis it was the Jews and Gypsies, mainly. For the Communists it was the wealthy, landlords, owners of property, and those with aristocratic or upper echelon status in society.
I think you guys are arguing at cross-purposes. Fascism can refer to highly centralized or dictatorial authority, used in a generic sense to refer to any government with those features, but it can also refer to the Fascist movement in Italy, which was not only autocratic, but nationalist and traditionalist as well.
So you guys are both right, just coming at it from different angles.
