The other trick is making your own position the default assumption; the one that's true unless the other side can provide proof... verified proof... in enough cases... except for those ones ...etc.

Not the person you're responding to but the big one is still ongoing:

"Of course this election was perfect and unblemished. All US elections are, except the ones a Gimmecrat loses."

The "default" position of elections all being perfectly clean and that questioning that is what requires "exceptional proof" is a great example of what the person above you is talking about.

The statement that AGW is self-evident and obvious and questioning that requires exceptional proof is another one.
