Lauren is wrong on this one.

They taught me in parochial school that God made me to show His goodness and to make me happy with Him in Heaven.

God made me straight. That is not a virtue on my part. I did not have a choice in the matter. If I felt for a woman like I did for my husband, I'd have been a lesbian, and that would be that.

God made people gay. I have no idea why He did that, but He did it. Nobody has the power to make a person gay or straight. We don't know how or why that happens.

Who am I, limited creature that I am, to question God's decision to create gay people?

As for gay marriage, I am perfectly happy to have States record civil unions for everybody, and let churches define the religious term, "marriage." Meanwhile, people can throw a party, and print invitations as they please.

That's your mistake. You're assuming God made them that way when no one really has any idea. So stop putting humans sins onto God until we know that for sure.

I tend to not question the motives and decisions of someone all knowing, all powerful, and omnipresent.

You're a rational monkey made of meat.

Not exactly capable of the same high level critical thinking God is capable of.

If god is omnipotent, he might see the possibilities of a society that fully embraces each aspect of being gay.

That embraces leads into trans, then into pedophiles, then into murderers, and cannibals. Debauchery begets Debauchery.

In truth, however, I do not think gays are wrong so long as it is an immutable characteristic. For I do not judge the basis of god’s creation. However, I shall judge the vanity of your actions in the name of a immutable characteristic.

I have a good fried that's gay. He hates it. Grew up in a very fundamentalist Christian home. He hunts, fishes, builds guns, and has his falconry license. Probably more alpha than you. He's always been gay.

There are many abnormalities at birth, that GOD apparently "made". Unless down syndrome, MS, MD, child leukemia, etc. are all a "choice".

Speaking of choice, when did YOU make your choice? As a straight male, I don't remember personally having one. I've always been attracted to the opposite sex.

I didn’t have to make my choice. Because as far as I know we’re all born straight so no choice was needed.
