Dems are using the $1400 checks in their package as leverage, to get all the other stuff in their $1.9 trillion package passed. But if someone just put forward a 2 sentence bill to send $2000 out to everyone, they could vote on that.
If Dems don't vote for it, would be a massive red pill.
If they did vote for it, the $1.9 trillion package would not have any legs to stand on.
Seems like an easy win-win. Maybe I am missing something, why has this not happened?

Just for the record, I am not a huge fan of sending out money. I think the best stimulus is to just re-open everything (more an issue in dem run places)
The point I am making is more so on the basis of being able to destroy democrat support. I don't disagree with you, many of the politicians are not on our side. But it would only take one to put forward the bill I mentioned above.
