"Despite vigorous opposition by the prosecution, the court has granted the defense motion that Chauvin’s trial be televised. In other words, the defense wants the world to see all the evidence, and the prosecution doesn’t. Why? Because once you get past the heavily edited and misleading video evidence and review all of the relevant proof, it becomes clear that the police did not cause Floyd’s death."
I'm not sure why the defense isn't filing motions for a change of venue.
Staying in Minneapolis is going to lead to a tainted jury pool that already have bias and that's a problem. They should be getting a jury pool from another state at this point as this is such a huge thing. There's no way he gets a fair trial here.
That's why the defense might be pushing to get it televised. The attorney better get ready to make this shit as political and polarizing as possible because that's the only way that the jury isn't going to convict him.
Shit, he might even want to waive his jury trial and go right to the Judge to decide guilt or not.
The jury is going to convict him if he has a jury trial.
I don't honestly see how you can convict him with the evidence they have. Was the cop of a piece of shit? Yeah. He also did some borderline racist things. But, this is honestly what happens to cops that spend years on the job. They become desensitized and apathetic. They've heard it all before and they don't care. They don't look at people like people, but as a job. They lose empathy for people after awhile. It's kind of sad, really.
Floyd was a dead man regardless if a knee was on his neck/back or not (which was an acceptable form of detainment in Minneapolis, by the way) he took enough fent that he was going to die and he was overdosing. The reason the cops couldn't tell is that Floyd also took meth which speeds you up so you can function and not pass out.
Fent is no joke, dude. It'll FUCK your shit up. Even the smallest amount will knock you out for 8-9 hours. Any kind of large dose can and will kill you and it hits you fast. Meth helps keep you awake, but it doesn't help with your nervous system shutting down and depressing your heart rate or breathing. Floyd couldn't breathe, i have no doubt. But he couldn't breathe because he was overdosing and the cops couldn't tell he was overdosing due to the meth.
Is that cop going to be acquitted of all charges? Doubt it. They'll probably get him for excessive force and maybe even wrongful death, but he's not going to get a murder charge and I don't think he's going to get jail time.
So, the city being fortified is a good thing. Because they're going to burn the whole city down when the cop walks out of the courthouse a free man. He might not be cleared, but he's not going to get a murder/manslaughter conviction. I'm thinking excessive force. He'll be put on probation, he'll be fired from the PD. He won't be able to be a cop anymore. He might have to pay fines. Minneapolis is fucked because they also defunded the police so they have no cops and they have ANTIFA and BLM there waiting to cause problems on top of the entire groups of people that want to bust into stores and steal stuff. There's nothing Minneapolis can do to stop them. Outside of calling the National Guard, which I don't think they're going to do. Because it'd look bad. So say goodbye to Minneapolis. That city will be ashes before this is all said and done.
Broadcasting the proceedings to the whole world is a smart play by the defense, but let's be real, it won't matter either way. No amount of evidence to the contrary will ever convince the screaming, fatherless molotov-throwers that they were wrong.
Derek Chauvin’s Trial: Countdown to a Kangaroo Court
The idea of an “impartial jury” is laughable.

They're going to burn the city down no matter what.
If there's a white male on the jury - riots
If he gets off - riots
If he's convicted of a lesser charge - riots
If the other officers get off - riots
If the judge doesn't have an electric chair in the courtroom ready to go - riots
If they won't let you block the street - riots
No matter what - riots
Jurys gonna get doxxed into a guilty verdict fam
