nah, there were sick bastards on the loose even back then in the early 70s when I was going to school. Unfortunately I had to identify one in a police lineup.
Hope that fuckers in a very warm place right now.
Us early 90s kids played outside all day too. It wasnt until the internet that the kids no longer learned social skills. Now it's just virtue signalling for attention instead building bonds and toughening up. Bunch of pussyhats.
I remember being in junior high when the internet first began gaining popularity. I went to my buddies house and he had this new thing called AOL instant messenger where you could talk to people from all over. He was so excited. I sat there for an hour as he desperately tried to get a girl to acknowledge his existence. I got bored and left. I remember thinking "this internet fad is pretty gay. I will be glad when it's over and people quit sitting in the house like fags all day."
"with no helmets". God I'm glad someone else notices this. I have to sigh every time I see someone riding a bike with a helmet. Even freaking adults. We're so pathetically delicate now.
From the beginning of time until 20 years ago or so, older folks used to tell younger people how good they have it, because things were constantly improving. Now it's the exact opposite. Older people are always telling younger people how great it was in the old days. That's not natural.
Helmets don't bother me, but I was also riding my bike through the woods at full speed dodging trees as a child, took one branch to the dome hard enough to throw me off the bike when I came around a bend into a downed tree. That could have been bad, but I walked away slightly dazed and slightly bloody, but otherwise fine.
As an adult I've crashed a racecar or two, and helmets definitely saved me from at least one crash that would have been permanently damaging. They have their place.
I do agree that everything has been overlysanitized now, everyone is overcautious, and I think that lack of risk and consequence has profound impacts on mental development.
I literally never saw anyone get a head injury when I was a kid and we were all out riding out bicycles everywhere. Nowadays you see a kid riding a tricycle at 0.1 mph with a giant helmet. Many people are so weak and numb these days it's like they are not even alive.
I never wore a helmet growing up either. I think I was in my mid-30s when a supervisor I had asked me if I’d mind if my wife had to wipe my ass for the rest of my life. Changed my mind. I know too many people that have been clipped by cars to go without one anymore.
I can relate and appreciate the sentiment, but don’t assume all of us new gen’s didn’t play outside until night came. Yeah, I had my fun playing multiplier on the N64 with the culdesac crew but we loved playing outside just as much, if not more.
In the 70s Nixon came to screw it all up by opening the doors to the Chinese and their poor quality copy products, and Carter ended up fucking her more with his Soviet populist trash.
He's still alive, believe it or not, and was recently still part of the National Security Council's advisory board (until Trump kicked him off before the end of his term)!
I'll take it even further back.. Patton wanted us to destroy the Soviet Union at the end of WWII. We could have done it - we had nukes and they did not.
China would have never gone red.. the cold war would have never happened.. imagine where the world would be if communism was snuffed out before it matured.
The nukes wouldn't have mattered. Our conventional bombing well exceeded their immediate damage capacities. The UK was a giant airstrip for us; if worst came to worst we'd just sit there again and bomb the hell out of the Soviets.
They had a laughable fleet compared to us. Their production was limited significantly, and they had depended on us throughout the war. The countries they occupied hated their guts and wanted them gone. Their soldiers were used to fighting the Germans; the allies preferred very different battle doctrines to the Axis.
We'd win the same way we beat the Germans; for every one tank they could destroy, we could produce another ten. They had no way of stopping our industrial power. No country on earth held them to high esteem.
We could have very rapidly revitalized and re-militarized the German war machine with outside support. The Wehrmacht had lost the will to fight the Allies; they had not lost the will to fight the Soviets. With our direction, they would bolster our forces with experience, manpower, energy, and a knowledge of the area. The future eastern bloc had already expended a lot on usurping the Nazi occupation; that said, they would have spared anything they could to fight us and weaken the Soviets from behind their lines.
The Red Army was densely packed into Germany. Bombing runs to cut off their supplies would leave them in a very precarious position. Landing troops in the regions such as Estonia and Crimea could destroy their naval ports and push inland with naval support.
Ultimately, the American battle doctrine proved it's supremacy to the German and Soviet doctrines repeatedly; With some adjustments to take the best of the German doctrine, American doctrine would go on to become the modern military doctrine of success.
Soviet manpower has no effect when they're charging into artillery barrages, bombing runs, strafes, tanks, and then a cohesive solid front of well-trained and well-equipped American soldiers. We would have had air superiority. We would have had naval superiority. We would have had armored superiority. We overwhelmingly had production superiority. Our infantry equipment was superior. The only things they had were manpower and experience.
It would have been a bloodbath, to be sure, but when you look at the cost of lives due to communism since, I think it would have been a risky but worthwhile decision. It would have also eliminated all demand for a military industrial complex; preventing such a thing from taking root. America could return to a mostly isolationist exporting policy, largely demilitarize, and push on to success.
And yet we sit here, typing about it online. The biggest failure of our society is that we haven't acted yet to stop the destruction of our nation. No, voting doesn't count, Jan 6th didn't count, in talking about a physical, armed uprising. Our forefathers are rolling over in their graves.
Our culture rotted first which led to the politicians taking advantage of the situation. Americans took their freedoms for granite and only worried about chasing the all mighty dollar all while being obsessed with consumption. Consumption of shitty food, trashy tv, buying shit we dont need with money we dont have so we can get our "fix". It is almost an addiction here in the US to go shopping and consume regardless if it is needed or can be afforded. So of course quality of items goes down, they know you will get tired of your new widget after 8 seconds and be back to buy a new shiney object next week. All this while turning a blind eye to raising kids and hoping the school would raise them. Becoming obsessed with professional sports, college sports, high school sports, little league sports VS focusing on what their kids are being taught in school in the math, history and science. Continuing to elect people who enable massive quantities of debt and theft of our money, electing people who who are owned by globalist corporations who give zero fucks about american workers. Blindly voting for the same people who screw us because the media would have you believe that changing the old guard is "extreme" and "dangerous". Americans traded their country in for a big mac and cheap toy made in china. But hey, at least they got a new car right after the neighbor jones's got their new boat.
I believe our rulers are a mafia and we haven’t really had a say in anything for decades, if ever. Laws don’t matter. Precedent doesn’t matter. Truth doesn’t matter. Only the mafia matters, and they achieve their goals through force.
Look at the mask mandates. We were never offered a vote on masks. The mafia just decided it and forced it through. And as for our Big Macs and our cheap toys and entertainment, I believe the blame for all of this goes to the mafia because THEY were the ones who broke the implicit social contract.
I believe as law-abiding, tax-paying citizens, we have some right of expectation here. We expect that if we go to a restaurant, they are serving us the food they advertise. We expect that if they are breaking the laws, there is a taxpayer-funded service whose job it is to prosecute and stop them. When a tax-paying wage-slave parent comes home and puts a cartoon on TV for their kid while they make supper or clean the bathroom or whatever, I think it’s not unreasonable for that parent to expect that as part of the implicit social contract, that kid’s cartoon will not be made by pedophiles and will not promote pedophilia.
This whole idea that every abuse we have suffered at the hands of the mafia has actually been our fault because we didn’t storm their mansions with pitchforks is wrong. We are more simple than that. We go to the office supply store and buy a pen. We just want to buy a pen. We don’t have time to go down a whole rabbit hole on Nixon and China and the gold standard and global manufacturing. It’s just a pen! We just want to buy a pen. If we had leaders that actually represented us, we could go to the store and buy a pen and not hurt our own nation. But instead we are ruled by a mafia who have set up a situation where EVERY pen we buy in EVERY store will hurt our nation. So now what? Manufacture our own pens? Then the banks will blacklist our pen company and not allow us to participate in commerce. So what? Stop using pens forever? At a certain point everyone just says fuck it and buys the pen and continues on with their day.
A lot of what the mafia has done also takes a lot of work in and of itself just to understand and keep up with. Is every citizen now required to study declassified FBI documents to learn for themselves all the pedophile codes and then pre-scan all children’s entertainment for these codes? Is that reasonable? We each have to become an SVU expert in our spare time now? Because that’s a full-time job unto itself. And what are we even paying taxes for, if none of these watchdog groups and law enforcement organizations are doing their jobs? If they are all part of the mafia too? Ditto with Covid. The medical community and our mafia rulers have done nothing but lie to us during this plandemic, so we have all had to become virology experts in our spare time. It is ridiculous. Nobody in this mafia is doing their jobs and then when we get screwed because of them, it is somehow OUR fault, for our lack of due diligence. But I say fuck that. This is a mafia, these people are evil, and we are their victims. None of this has to be this way, and the fact that it is, I say we point the finger at this mafia, not at each other.
Apathy and acceptance of what is perceived as the inevitable isn't helping though. Yes, the mafia, to use your term, is responsible and should be the target. But, I guess many people have the 'learned helplessness' syndrome. Case in point: you mentioned that we we should expect to be served the food that was advertised. Question: how often does someone complain when they go to a restaurant or even a grocery store and buy a food item and it doesn't match what was advertised? Rarely. We all know and have come to expect that what is promised to us will not be what we receive. While it is mcdonalds fault that the Big Mac on TV looks nothing like the one we actually get, we have become complacent. This is a parallel of so many different aspects of life. It's to the point that I would be ridiculed for going to McDonald's and complaining that my Big Mac is bullshit because it's not what was advertised. I would hear, "Well, duh! Everybody knows it's just a commercial and the burger isn't even real. Why would you expect a burger that looks like the one on TV? You must be stupid!."
But your assertion is absolutely true about what we should expect. We've just been conditioned to not expect what is advertised. We need to break that conditioning.
Yes I agree with this as well. However, what gets me is 20-30 years ago when people like ross perot, ron paul, or even 50 years ago with Barry Goldwater & Mccarthy sounded the alarm bells, the average simp american decided it was better to live with their heads in the sand and pretend no bad things would ever happen to the great america. You are correct though that the average american shouldnt have to assume their elected reps are selling them out because that is a breach of trust imo. I also dont think this problem as a society started 4yrs ago or even 12 years ago. This has been a slow moving train wreck since 1913 with little points of pumping the breaks here and there followed by bursts of acceleration.
This! My brother and I are the only people I know who stopped watching the NFL. All our friends and family still line up to waste their time and emotion on that trash. I understand it because I was the same way. I am now embarrassed I ever cared that much about that circus...and I did. It would ruin my week if the team lost. Ridiculous. But there is nothing that they could do to make most bud lite commercial infected Americans from giving it up.
1913 according to my watch is when shit went sideways. That said though, decades of media brainwashing, union newspapers brainwashing, schools, movie culture etc was able to get most people to ho-hum the cultural decay. I mean how times has a solid candidate run for office, but our side didnt vote for them over the Rino because we were scared to take a chance on change in the general election? Conservative media that carries the water for the rinos/neocons all these years are also at fault. Hey, at least people are more awake now than they were 10 yrs ago. It is at least a step in the right direction.

My wife, myself, and some of our parents will be going to our first Republican Party Reorg in about a week to get involved and start taking back our nation--which was not built on empty sentiments by the uninitiated. I'm done watching the people around me stick their heads in the sand so they can continue staying in the comfort zone of their own little world. A lot of good they're going to do when they've let the evil in this country grow to the point of no return.
I'm working to get America back, and they can thank me later if they ever open their eyes!
Disagree. This is what the ChiComs WANT. Without external support, they face the suffering of internal collapse. If even half this country becomes Occupied USA to the Colonialist Middle Kingdom of the Imperial Communist Zhongguo, the other half becomes Vichy USA and both will become Sinicized and our resources will be pulverized for the use of the Colonialist Han Chinese's Genocidal NeoMercantilism. It was the fall of the Kingdom of Israel solely that made the fall of the Kingdom of Judah inevitable.
All we need to do is start taking positions in local government, on school boards, etc. It's much easier than what our forefathers did. If we are not willing to do that over the next few years, we don't deserve freedom.
Everyone has figured this out. This is immigration on a smaller scale. “Move to the West!”
“Flee to America!” “Escape to the red states!”
“Look for a good school district!”
“Find a safe (mostly white or Asian) neighborhood”
The problem is the left cannot just leave us alone to be happy and successful. They hate life as they hate themselves and have an unquenchable desire to ruin everything.
Be careful guys. I was just attacked viciously on another thread for defending the values of Western Civilization. I was called a rotten Nazi and white supremacist.
LOL That sounds like the talks my husband and I have--and often!
You could walk to school alone with no fear and the music was better.
nah, there were sick bastards on the loose even back then in the early 70s when I was going to school. Unfortunately I had to identify one in a police lineup. Hope that fuckers in a very warm place right now.
The music was definitely better though :p
I remember playing in the park with plastic guns and not getting shot by the cops.
Us early 90s kids played outside all day too. It wasnt until the internet that the kids no longer learned social skills. Now it's just virtue signalling for attention instead building bonds and toughening up. Bunch of pussyhats.

What is exactly wrong with helmets? Pick your battles. Helmets save tremendous amounts of lives.

HENRY FUCKING KISSINGER
May the rat bastard burn in hell
He's still alive, believe it or not, and was recently still part of the National Security Council's advisory board (until Trump kicked him off before the end of his term)!
This; when I heard about that when Trump fired him I was stunned.
I don't think anyone outside of government likes him; he was/is a dirtbag. How he still held position; even under Trump, had me massively puzzled.
Yes.

Greatest mistake next to importing slaves
Right, and then MacArthur was fired during Korean War.
Patton was murdered. Folks don't like to acknowledge that.
We could not have done it. This is fantasy.
How many nukes did we have on VE day?
We could have, the numbers were there.
The nukes wouldn't have mattered. Our conventional bombing well exceeded their immediate damage capacities. The UK was a giant airstrip for us; if worst came to worst we'd just sit there again and bomb the hell out of the Soviets.

Stick to those guns.

I know people who gave it up and their lives got better. But yes I definitely know people who still watch it every weekend and it makes me sad.
I've pulled the plug on professional sports. Huge waste of time and energy. I love sports, but would rather play than watch anyway.
You're acting like we voted for this and stolen elections are new.
You have much to learn, young Padawan.
The organized takedown of the US has been ongoing for 107 years.
But we are doing something about it. Grass roots is working behind the scenes and we are gaining ground daily.
We all need to get involved. At the very least, you'll meet fellow travelers who will have your back when the zombie apocalypse arrives.
It looks bad, but all is not lost yet.
I agree. I've never felt more optimistic for humanity's future. All of this stuff is just serving to make us better and stronger.
Totally agree. I just joined our local GOP chapter in NE. We need to mobilize and get involved. Big picture it feels like we are winning. If Cuomo and Newsom go down it will rock the Dems. We are close to some big battle wins. We need Arizona, NH (anyone state really) to keep pushing election investigations. The truth will get out.
My tribe: https://1776foreverfree.com
You're only gaining the ground they allow you to gain. In the end, you still have no voice or power. We thought we had wins with every Trump Supreme Court nomination, and look how that turned out.
I never had any faith in a Mitch confirmed judge, and we are gaining ground.
The States created the Federal Government, and we can take back the power they've accumulated illegally over the years. That's the peaceful path forward.
But "to secure peace is to prepare for war".
I agree, and can sum up most of the commenting below for those not wanting to scroll: "Nostalgic words about [insert era here]". Merely posting a remark or sharing the latest dank-right meme isn't going to do anything more than further the online echo chamber.
The memes can help rally the troops, get people to laugh etc. They have a role but without action won't do much good.
Secession is the way
Disagree. This is what the ChiComs WANT. Without external support, they face the suffering of internal collapse. ONLY a Civil War can fix this.
Agree.
Our Founding Fathers gave us the 2nd Amendment for THIS EXACT REASON.
All we need to do is start taking positions in local government, on school boards, etc. It's much easier than what our forefathers did. If we are not willing to do that over the next few years, we don't deserve freedom.
Move to a white neighborhood
If you can find one
Everyone has figured this out. This is immigration on a smaller scale. “Move to the West!” “Flee to America!” “Escape to the red states!” “Look for a good school district!” “Find a safe (mostly white or Asian) neighborhood”
The desire for the solution creates more problems
Liberal crap infests cities.
White people head out out of the cities.
Cities turn into Detroit.
Feds bail out blue cities with white people's tax money.
The problem is the left cannot just leave us alone to be happy and successful. They hate life as they hate themselves and have an unquenchable desire to ruin everything.
Running only works if you plan to fight at some point
And fighting only works if you’re part of a unified group which will stand up for each other
It’s okay to be white
So start networking and making pacts.
And it's great to be white lol
Be careful guys. I was just attacked viciously on another thread for defending the values of Western Civilization. I was called a rotten Nazi and white supremacist.
I agree 100%
