One, the reporting on deaths and cases was hyper inflated fraud. They could not hide that fact with empty ships and tents. Two, the ships and tents cost real money with real bills. They could not get covid sham money and use the loot for other things.
I know in Houston, the tents went up and went down within a week yet the Mayor never shuts up about testing and cases or getting his hands on money. He wants to take the money from our rainy day fun since before the virus.
The reason is because the medical ships/tents were federally funded and aided. That means the private hospitals don't get paid if COVID patients aren't going to the hospitals. Hospitals got something like 15k in kickbacks per COVID patient, so there's incentive to call EVERYTHING COVID. It also helps politically, because they can inflate the numbers. That's why the tests were set to be incredibly sensitive. Because the hospitals profit, and the Democrats make the opposition look bad.
It's win/win for both parties.
Putting people in the overflow ships doesn't get them paid and it makes Trump look good because they needed the aide and he was there standing by. They wouldn't give him a win. Even at the cost of people's lives. That's how much they care about human life and their constituents. They're willing to sacrifice lives to achieve their goal. They're willing to kill people if it means them winning. They're willing to destroy the fabric of society if it means power.
They don't care if the country is burnt to the ground as long as they're the ones that get to stand on top of the ashes and scream decree's to the corpses.
