Agreed.

FYI, they're still making messes in Portland as I type this. I fully expect one of two things to happen in Portland by August:

  1. Portland becomes a wasteland that will rival any 1980's post-apocalyptic flick.

  2. Intel and Nike will start mouthing about it affecting their decision to remain in Oregon, causing Gov. Kate Brown to send in the National Guard, who will in turn kill every BLM/Antifa protestor that so much as dares set foot on the street after a strict 7:59pm curfew.

Intel and Nike are the two largest employers in Oregon, respectively.

If Intel left, they would take at least 20k Portland Metro jobs with them, plus all the subcontractor/vendor jobs, leaving the area with a massive unemployment rate and a shitload of commercial space for sale. Their economic impact is estimated at $27 billion for just the Portland Metro area (Washington, Multnomah, and Clackamas counties.)

Nike employs roughly 12k people in Portland Metro on their own (they're centered in Beaverton).

They don't have to actually leave -just the threat would be enough to give any politician here a massive fit of nightmares, and given the sheer vindictive incompetence of Kate Brown and her cohort, yeah, she'd pull the trigger.

I don't think they are able to threaten that. Progressive activists and MSM they are able to influence will reframe this as "racism", "new redlining" and "being threatened by POCs". After a media shitstorm companies will have to apologize and give some more milions of dollars to BLM etc. - probably hire more diversity officers.

It's cheaper for them to just board up.

Progressives would never allow Gov Kate Brown to have a career in politics after deploying National Guard against "mostly peaceful protesters fighting for racial equality" - that would be white supremacy to them.

I may be wrong though, we'll see. Stocking on popcorn already.🍿
