In Oregon we have an epidemic of these things illegally sited on rural land with no septic/sewer. They dump the black water a couple hundred feet from their trailers, or just let it run into a hole in the ground. Often near streams or rivers. So environmentally conscious.
From what I have seen while channel surfing, almost every single builder/buyer has a free place to park them (relative's land or back yard) and is hiding out from the taxman or debt collector.
They do this in any realm they enter. Books, movies, comics, video games, food...etc. they never create anything original they always just "reimagine" something, which almost always makes it worse than it already was.
Dealt with alot of these types about a decade ago in motorcycling, when cafe racers built from old japanese UJMs were all the rage. It was basically what you said, 30 to 40 year old jap bikes aping 1950's british bikes, held together with Home Depot brand fasteners, and going for new bike prices.
The bright side, I was able to make a little money finding donor bikes in small towns for them to butcher.
It's the level of pretension with companies like singer that turn me off to them. Just say you've done a resto mod don't try and make up some cool new word for it like outlaw. And even as far as resto mods go they don't do that much. If they swapped in modern day Porsche turbo engines into an old body 911 then I could maybe see charging as much as they do. But as it stands they don't really make them that much faster. They just hot rod Porsches but then try to spin it as if they're being respectful to the original vision of Porsche. Drop the snobby act of being unique. All that being said I like the cars that they put out. I just wish they were a little more down to earth.
These dumbasses think that the thing that makes buying property expensive is the house, not the property itself. So they see that these things start at $100k and think that it’s the same thing as owning a similar size studio apartment in NYC for $100k.
right. you could purchase a panelized house, there are many to choose from and they are all customizable. And the same company or a contractor will have it completely framed: foudation, walls, roof, everything in 1-2 weeks. The plumbing and electrical done in another 1-2 weeks, and the insulation, drywall, and flooring in another 1-2 weeks, finishing in 1-2 weeks.... Basically the whole damn house in 1-2 months depending on the complexity.
Fuck you could choose from a multitude of pre-engineered Butler-type buildings out of steel or wood.
so fucking true - all the hipsters who want a tiny house made of a shipping container - go get a fucking cheap trailer park model! people have known the advantages for generations!
Ahahahaha I said that to my husband. They look like glorified trailer park homes. This is what the commies want you to live in. It is not a coincidence that commie states and other commie countries are moving towards tiny living. They don't want you to own anything. You will own nothing and be happy. I will say that I am all for off grid living etc but there is something really fishy about the tiny house movement.
I saw a piece of property for sale in kentucky I found online and they had a shipping container they turned into a "tiny house" type deal and it was out on some hunting land way out in the wilderness. I thought that was a pretty trick idea especially if you're not looking to build a massive home and tryna save some money. Or more interested in hunting than houses maybe 😂
Their is people turning their vehicles into homes too. Old rvs, box trucks. They convert them to mobile homes. I think its pretty interesting but I also think it isn't going to save people as much money as they think it would.
This is honestly an impressive PsyOp first they convinced these Tards to get useless degrees burying them in debt without teaching them useful skills then they convinced them living in a trailer is hip.
Neither are trashy, but the left sure are hypocrites. I'm going to spend the summer converting a shipping container to an off the grid, rustic home. It's going to be awesome.
Gonna learn some practical skills and how to be more self sufficient. Start growing more of my own food.
This is the result of growing up in urban or suburban living situation. Those environments may be cosmopolitan and expose you to lots of ideas, but being educated in a setting like that leaves them with little in terms of practical skills and knowledge for things you use in day to day living. You have a generation that struggles to evaluate homes, vehicles, appliances, because of poor mechanical skills, material and construction knowledge.
Nothing wrong with living smaller, off grid, or self sustaining. A big goal of mine is to not fall into a 30 year mortgage trap and work a job i hate in a corporate world where Critical Theory is HR's lingua franca.
The classism is what kills me. You didn't "do better" because you bought a kit built trailer that's covered in shiplap and is more "instagram ready".
self righteous faggots claiming one form of living is better than other; no better than the losers in this comment section becoming laughably angry at the idea people are upcycling
i hate everyone equally but this is by far the most retarded post I've ever seen on this website
they are reinventing the wheel.. but making it cost $200K and not work as well.
Its more like "i figured out this tiny home on wheels saves me massive amounts of money in taxes, but im still gonna vote dem to fuck everyone else."

Lol. Came here to say this. I actually like watching tiny house builds, but they charge astronomical prices for basically a trailer home.
I don't really understand the point of them. There is more space in a trailer home.
But they're supposed to be TINY!!!!!
Like their heads.

“You can buy the at IKEA and assemble them yourselves like Legos!!! (I’ll still hire someone to put it together for me though)”
PT Barnum foresaw leftards and Qtards a century ago.
They do this in any realm they enter. Books, movies, comics, video games, food...etc. they never create anything original they always just "reimagine" something, which almost always makes it worse than it already was.
While claiming it's the first time anyone ever did it, too.

Sounds exactly like what singer is to porsche.
Singer is selling rich people their own sweat equity. At least they are being charged appropriately: $400k+ for a restomod air cooled Porsche.
Though I do like Singers, one-off [for now] rally Porsche.

asking a CA company to be more down to earth..... its impossible.
is that the Magnus guy out in LA? The one that looks like Rob Zombie? or some one else?
Singer is its own company and Magnus is a Porsche hot rodder out in LA. They both do pretty much the same thing.
I've done some computer programming myself.
Lol. This is so true.

Container bunker ftw !
Makes the illegal alien child feel at home.
I'd take either one as long as it gets me the fuck away from the city .. and the creatures that live there.
Why are you scared of the city?
Where did I say that I was scared?
"you are cityphobic? you must secretly want to fuck cities."

Haha I love it! As long as it isn't one of those shipping container deals..
like wayfair or Biden cage?

I appreciate the creative aspect. Hell I would do it for adventure myself and go out a year or two driving around.
But long term? Hell no.
Agenda 2030.
What is it from? People are talking about that small house like they've seen it before.
That bottom house looks like it wouldn't retain heat at all.
It looks like a tin can.
Worse, even, as tin interior lining would reflect heat back it. This looks like it's made out of balsawood at most.
I legit said this the first time I saw “Tiny House Nation” with my wife.
It’s a fuckin trailer. Christ the mental gymnastics these cucks do...
This made me think of all the liberals living in 500 square foot apartments in the city. They literally live in a trailer park tower.
Or worse is these https://sf.curbed.com/2019/7/18/20699340/podshare-san-francisco-bunk-bed-sf-sold-out
Is this that whole "micro home" fad I've been seeing with these woke tech types?
Yep!

The rich would LOVES IT if the poor started to live like this. They would love it if this started a trend.
This is honestly an impressive PsyOp first they convinced these Tards to get useless degrees burying them in debt without teaching them useful skills then they convinced them living in a trailer is hip.
Lol. That is a very good point.
It's amazing the vitriol the friends of the underclass spout once the subject turns to poor whites in trailer parks
You would be suprised at the amount of white folk with a lot of money living in trailers, ain't no point in spending money on a place to sleep.
🤣🤣🤣
This is a very good meme.
I wonder if it can be done with a Frank Lloyd Wright box-house.

This has always amused me.
But, but... It's tiny, like its dick! How can it 'not' like it!
paint it shit color and the left will want it
I've always wondered about mouth breathers that get excited about remodeled trailers like this.

They both are trashy as fuck.
