He was almost as fast as Bolt about two years after Bolt's sudden emergence as a 100m star. Can't remember what stalled him, might have been injury. Their out-of-nowhere annihilation of previously untouchable records was highly suspect. It could be that they were doping hard, then were told to put on the brakes. Not long after that, the head of the IAAF (equivalent to NFL commissioner) was busted for taking bribes, including bribes to look the other way for dopers. Jamaica was never implicated, but there is no way the sport of Track and Field would allow their greatest star to be taken out in a doping scandal, it would destroy the sport, which is already struggling. It is quite likely that Bolt and Blake were told to dial back the doping. Bolt continued to dominate but stopped running otherworldly times about the same time Blake disappeared from the radar. Blake is only winning medals now because he is on the 4 x 100m relay.

There's no way they weren't doping when the top US runners who were pretty much tied with Blake for second fastest (Gay and Gatling?) were both busted for doping around the same time all those records were being set. Track and Field just turned a blind eye as they knew that unlike baseball they don't have the following to survive a doping scandal like that. Bolt breaking all those records did the impossible, it got kids actually interested in track lol.
Doping is rampant in most sports sadly, heck if you still have Leftflix pull up their documentary Icarus, it started as a film maker trying to improve his bicycle racing times and just happened to be at the time the Ruskies got caught.
Possibly, but I've been watching track for decades and virtually every one of the top sprinters on the all time list has either been banned for doping or it was found out later that they'd gotten away with doping. I can't believe that Bolt was the one guy who was far better than all of them and he was clean. Sprinting is so dirty that I believe they're all doping, so Bolt is the best anyway and to enjoy it you have to stop caring that they're doped.

TIL doping is rampant in the Olympics. I knew about Russia doping for years, but damn. Mind as well make doping legal

Bolts genetics and large body composition put him at a level no other human has yet to equal.
