Just walked out of a gas station. The one door is held by a Karen and a black man. They both hold the door for me simultaneously. It was timing.

The thing that this happened is because I was walking out the door.

Not only could she have said nothing. She said to the black man, and I quote,”Wow, you could be working at Walmart.” like ‘complementing him or something.

This dude is like, I’m going inside to pay for my gas now.

I live in a small town. We all hold the door for everyone, even kids, and only a quiet thank you or nod of the head is needed. We also yuk it up in the parking lots before and after leaving the store.
